Under-rated Over-generosity

Thu Feb 7, 2008, 11:05 AM
Just a little blog I HAD written for work but thought it might offend everyone - which might be bad so I sent it for approval.

I was right.

I think it applies to a lot generally and I've got this inkling that people will be able to relate. So I post here for my fellow cheeky monkeys to read.

---

I'd like to think that the world just revolves about helping others, aka generosity. Good karma, do onto others as you would like done onto you, give and you shall receive, all general statements that support the fact. Then you get someone that kicks you in the shins while you're sharing home made cookies with you classmates.

Speaking about classmates, isn't it that our first lesson in kindergarden - learn how to share kiddos! Alas, sharing isn't quite that simple! A week later you'll get that newsletter to give to you parents "lice outbreak, don't share anything". Why would you want to start sharing if causes insects giving you a constant itch at the back of your skull? A head scratcher of a thought isn't it.

I think everyone has their moments where they end up working their buts off for little projects they've decided to take under their wings. I've seen the guys complain for hours (not for hours, they still have work to do, but for long periods of time none the less) about the things they've regretted. Within this office, we've all had the experience where we decide for the better of all man kind to give a helping hand to those in need of a website that doesn't have issues. We do our little thing and donate our time and efforts to get a reply of "That's it? Can you do this too?". We did good, I know it. No need to be greedy, nit-picky, and in extreme cases out-right annoying. I'm all for helping out the needy, but really somethings are just not worth wanting to punch through our thousands-of-dollars monitor.

Don't bite the hand that's feeding you. I've filled this blog with too many cliche quotes, but I don't care. No biting. Enough biting and we'll either have a full out chomping battle or the next time someone decided to do something nice for you, they'll hurl it at your head and run for the hills.

As for how my drawing is coming a lot I've been doing some painting -which I will post eventually when I get a good picture of it when I'm done... anddddd THEN I shall think about drawing some more because I'm sure I should. But I've hit the "I'm lazy" thing again. I'll think of something to motivate me - truffles? those sound good, but then again so do grill cheese sandwiches ... omsh food.

  • Mood: Astonished
  • Eating: I'm done eating... want more food.
  • Drinking: Nothing = thirsty = should drink drinkey
